Drawing and painting might have been my first love but the beauty of a well-designed and well-lived home has always had a special place in my heart. When I was young, I loved driving around with my Grandma from San Antonio to look at the beautifully nestled and stately homes rather than going to the mall. From early on I was drawn to the beauty of architecture and the meaning of home.

my process

I am in love with the timeless, folk designs of my hometown and the hospitality of its community.

I moved back to Fredericksburg, Texas in 2005 after graduating Texas A&M University with a degree in architecture. I worked for a design/build firm for 6 years doing design, project management, estimating and scheduling. I then went out on my own in 2012 and for 8 years have designed hundreds of homes both in the city and the surrounding county.

My Design Philosophy

I strive to design homes that evoke the same timelessness of those old farmhouses, while also responding to modern needs, materials and lifestyles.

I grew up on the banks of the Willow Creek in my great-grandparent’s hundred year-old farmhouse.

For me ‘farm house’ has a real meaning with smells of antique longleaf pine beadboard walls and chicken and dumplings on the stove. The Hill Country lifestyle is not a cliche but a way of life for many of us in Gillespie County. I spent my childhood surrounded by the charming structures clad in materials patinaed by time and life’s experiences.

The iconic simple gabled roof structure was a popular backdrop in my rural community. It was built in response to the land sometimes offering lean-to’s or dog trots for natural cooling. Many times they were built with the materials they had on hand and were not built to impress as much as to be functional and provide for needs.
